Green Screen Toronto, in cooperation with Ryseron University and supporting sponsor is proud to present an advanced lighting workshop that will offer an overview of some current LED lighting options and explore the suitability and use of LED Fixtures as stand-a-lone or integral with other types of lighting, as well as the future of LED fixtures.
The session will be hosted by Lance Carlson, who will introduce presenters and an informal Panel Discussion and Q & A at the conclusion of the day.
The key presenters will be Brad Dickson, Senior Lighting Director at CBC who will offer some breakthrough insights into the use of LED lighting, including an overview of lighting the CBC Sports, studio at the Beijing 2008 Olympics solely with LED fixtures as well as the CBC French Newsroom in Toronto. Freider Hoccheim, Ryerson grad, founder and owner of Kino Flo as well as a proponent of energy efficient lighting will also present. As well, several DOPs with experience in using LED fixtures will participate in the hands-on workshops and panel discussion. Results will be captured on high definition cameras (CineAlta EX-3 and Panasonic HDC20) as well as the Cinema Digital RedOne courtesy of PS Production Services.

1. Overview of LED fixtures - current and future.
2. A Little Lighting Theory – setting up Scopes, Charts and Cameras.
3. Potential for LEDs in Studio and On-Set.
4. LED applications for ENG, Documentary and On-set shooting.
Outcomes: We will be taping the workshop/presentation for Podcast, as well as in High Def for compilation of several short informational video segments which will be available Online and DVD shortly after this event.
