Background

Planet in Focus’ Green Screen Program is North America’s leading non-profit environmental stewardship initiative for the film and television industry.

This award-winning program supports the growth of Canada’s film and television industry by creating innovative and sustainable production practices, and makes a positive impact on the environment by promoting these practices to international industry professionals.

Originating in 2007 as the Green Screen Toronto Initiative, film and television pioneers whose vision included green guidelines and resources were supported by the OMDC’s Entertainment and Creative Cluster Fund. Since that time, the Green Screen program has expanded and welcomes organizations, unions, guilds and volunteers throughout the country who are interested in a greener, more prosperous future for the Canadian film and television industry and a more sustainable future for film lovers everywhere.
