EnviroTrack

EnviroTrack is a Toronto-based consultancy and implementation team focusing on businesses that want to deepen and refine their current environmental practices and for business that are just starting on the road to ‘going green’. The EnviroTrack team brings together the inter-related disciplines of communications, research, facilitation, project management and production and technical services. EnviroTrack is uniquely qualified to work on these projects as our team hails from two very different backgrounds; the Canadian film and television industry and environmental assessment and program development.

EnviroTrack Team
Head Writer and Lead Researcher, Jennifer Arnold, has over 15 years experience in writing and research for clients in the Canadian television and film industry, not-for-profit, telecommunications and banking. Her degree in publishing from New York University has been invaluable in the creation and publication of several resource guides, book projects, and manuals that are published in both hard copy and the web.

Researcher and Production Lead, Shawna Eberle, has several years experience in managing the working logistics and ongoing implementation of a national recycling program, thINK Food/Phones for Food where she was responsible for developing and managing relationships with waste diversion suppliers, working with large companies and government to roll-out the project. In addition, she is a professional photographer, with experience in print production, layout and design.

Professional Facilitator, Tamara Eberle, founder of the multi-award winning program thINK FOOD/Phones-for-Food, a national recycling program for e-devices that directs its earnings from recycling to local food banks across Canada. With this innovative environmental initiative Tamara brought together support from both municipal and federal government as well as large corporate sponsors. Tamara is a former executive board member of the Recycling Council of Ontario and remains actively involved.

Melissa Felder & Associates

Project Team
The lead consultant for the Green Best Practices project is Melissa Felder, M.Sc.  Melissa has operated an environmental consulting practice since 2000 and will be assisted by a team of professional environmental consultants including Nima Maleki, Leslie Kulperger, Carla Weinberg and Hugh Roberts as well as television and film professionals Maya Bilbao and Nola Chaters.

Felder and her team have successfully designed and deployed various environmental improvement initiatives for both the private and public sector.  The team’s collective experience includes solid waste audits, water efficiency policy, demand side management, greenhouse gas reduction modeling, vehicle fleet fuel efficiency and alternative fuels/technologies, consultation and deployment of LEED® certification, consumer programs, sustainable ecotourism, and a variety of other areas.

Project Lead and Technical Authority: Melissa Felder, M.Sc.
Melissa Felder has operated an independent environmental consulting practice since 2000 with services in energy efficiency and renewable energy, sustainable housing, efficient transportation, and solid and hazardous waste management. Melissa has recognized expertise in large-scale audit design and deployment, research and development of environmental criteria, and development of high profile certification programs and funding frameworks. Clients have included the World Green Building Council, Environment Canada, the ColombianHydrocarbon Agency, the Ontario Ministries of Natural Resources, Finance, Energy, and Environment, the US Environmental Protection Agency, Ontario Shared Services Bureau, Net Zero Energy Home Coalition, Corporate Knights, Pollution Probe, and the $1B granting agency: Sustainable Development Technology Canada.

Melissa graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master’s degree in Bio-Resource and Chemical Engineering (Hon.).

Project Manager and Senior Analyst: Nima Maleki
Nima Maleki has had over ten years of experience as an independent project manager and policy analyst in the environmental sector.  Nima is presently active in organizing communities throughout Toronto both as an independent community organizer and as the manager of community outreach for Maple Key, a newly developing non-profit. Employers and clients have included the City of Toronto Economic Development Division, City Toronto Water Efficiency, the Toronto General Hospital, Ontario Power Generation, the Net Zero Energy Home Coalition, Fleet Challenge Ontario, Ontario Ministry of Finance, the Copenhagen Business School, Natural Resources Canada, Ontario Ministry of Energy, and PowerStream.

Project Manager and Senior Analyst: Leslie Kulperger
Leslie Kulperger is a multilingual environmental consultant dedicated to generating tangible environmental improvements through research, and program development, management, & evaluation. Leslie’s focus on energy efficiency, conservation demand management, and hazardous waste management initiatives has achieved award winning results. Her pilot of Keep Cool, an air conditioner exchange program, received the 2002 Promotional Campaign of the Year Award from Natural Resources Canada’s Special Recognition Awards for ENERGY STAR Market Transformation. Switch Out, a mercury recovery program, received an Honorary Mention in the Innovations category of the 2003 Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment’s (CCME) Pollution Prevention Awards under Leslie’s management.

Project Analyst: Carla Weinberg (M.Arch. LEED ® AP)
Carla Weinberg is a LEED® accredited professional and an environmental and design consultant with a wide range of experience and interests in environmental and architectural planning and design, community development, research and writing, graphic design/presentation and photography. Highlights of her work include the successful completion of the first “LEED® Certified” multi-unit high-rise residential building in Canada, initiation of a housing project for people with disabilities in Cebu, Philippines, functional planning for community health centres in Toronto, Ontario and a written graduate thesis on the relationship between architecture and sustainable tourism development.

Technical Advisor (Certification Framework): Hugh Roberts (M.B.A.)

Hugh Roberts holds a B.Sc. in Health Information Science, an M.B.A. with an entrepreneurship Specialty, and is a member of MENSA Canada. Hugh has been involved in program development, systems design, and marketing on many local, provincial and federal team projects focused on environmental performance and is currently assessing California tailpipe emissions regulations to advise government on policy development. Hugh has considerable technical experience in the design and development of environmental certification projects, including as one of the key developers of the E3 Fleet Review tool. This tool allows E3 to provide vehicle fleets with a full suite of key benchmarks on environmental and other indicators, using assumptions from NRCan’s GHGenius to consider the impact of the range of fuels in use today.

Project Advisor/Researcher (Television): Maya Bilbao
Maya has been the prime researcher, writer, director, and producer on more than 100 segments for television with bearing on development, production, and post-production requirements.  Current and past research projects have involved detailed primary and secondary research, archives, newspapers, and interviews on behalf of Rogers Television. Her documentary on Greenpeace founder Robert Hunter was aired by CBC Television.

Project Advisor (Film): Nola Chaters
Nola Chaters is a film and theatre wardrobe and set specialist with over ten years of experience on a wide range of areas pertaining to the varying needs of film and theatre productions. Her roles have included Head of Wardrobe for Stage West to scene painter, production assistant, head and crew member for props/sets/stage, set designer, and seamstress.  Employers and clients have included Stage West, Alliance Atlantis, Greystone Productions, Warner Brothers, Theatre Sheridan, Much More Music, Ysis Entertainment, Fox Television, and others.
