Best Practices Committee

The Best Practices Committee researches, develops, and encourages the adoption of environmentally responsible best practices within the screen based industry. As a committee, we act as a resource for concerned industry individuals and companies who are striving to improve their environmental performance or desire to provide feedback. We work collaboratively with all of the committees comprising the Green Screen Toronto organization, in order to develop and deliver the tools and information that will satisfy the broader mandate of that group.

Cluster Fund Committee

The Cluster Fund Committee oversees the Green Screen Toronto initiatives which are aimed to create a set of sustainable best practice protocols leading to a certification program for the Toronto film and television industry, using a third party verification mechanism, under which green-abiding productions would be accredited. The project will also produce a Green Best Practices Guide as well as a Green Resource Guide for Ontario-based productions. This committee comprises the primary and founding partners and the OMDC, which is supporting the initiative through the Entertainment and Creative Cluster Fund.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee develops and oversees communication strategies for Green Screen Toronto, raising our profile to the world at large. Our role is to assure that we communicate to the entertainment industry and the general public locally, nationally and internationally that Toronto provides and delivers state-of-the-art green best production practices, services, personnel and products, using all available means of communication at our disposal. This committee will promote our brand and keep the public informed of Green Screen Toronto's developments, workshops and initiatives with the hope of drawing new members to join our greening endeavours.

Governance Committee

Green Screen Toronto's Governance Committee is developing the strategic priorities of Green Screen Toronto by defining its mission, values and goals and recommending future policy directions for the alliance. The committee is setting up a new Board structure for Green Screen Toronto and will also establish a framework for broadening the membership base and long term sustainability and viability of the alliance.

Workshop Committee

The Workshop Committee is creating opportunities for members of the Toronto film community to develop, learn and practice environmental stewardship in our industry. Through targeted workshops we hope to engage members of the alliance in the greening process and develop tools which can be used in every sector of the filmmaking process to assist us in reducing our environmental impact. We are actively soliciting input from alliance members, environmental consultants, local universities and all levels of the government. Our committee welcomes new members!
